The national prosecution authority of the assets -inferior declaration has been granted a preservation order to seize properties of the accused linked to the removal case of the free state of asbestos roof.
The properties are appreciated on R32 million.
NPA spokesperson Mthunzi Mhaga says that the order includes a luxury car, in cash purchased for R2 million, reportedly with revenues of crime linked to the case.
Mhaga adds that the Asset VerbisFEIGE unit is of the opinion that the property is proceeds from illegal activities of theft, fraud, corruption and money laundering, which is continued against the Free State Department of Human Settlements.
A total of 18 people are confronted with different costs related to the asbestos -roof removal project that was contracted in 2014.
