Emergency service was sent to the scene on Friday morning (11/4) after reports of an accident, said Free State EMS spokesperson, Sipho Towa. Upon arrival they found a cup of coffee and a light motor vehicle that was involved in a frontal collision.
Two people, supposed to be minors, were declared dead on the spot. One person was critical injury and was transported to the Dihlabeng hospital in Bethlehem for urgent care.

Two others suffered moderate injuries and were taken to the Tokolo District Hospital in Heilbron.
Towa insisted on motorists to be careful when approaching the accident scene, because emergency services and law enforcement work actively there. He added that while the road remains open, the traffic is slowly moving.
There is an investigation into the cause of the collision.

In the meantime, the Free State MEC for community safety, roads and transport, Jabu Mbalula, Friday (11/4) will launch Free State Easter Road Safety Campaign on the N1 in Kroonstad.
Spokesperson for the department, Hillary Mophethe, says that the campaign wants to train motorists about safe driving practices and responsible road use, with the ultimate goal of reducing crashes and fatalities on the roads of South Africa during the high-risk Easter trips.
Travelers can expect various activities at the launch, including:
- Passenger safety simulator: Experience the importance of safe driving methods from first -hand.
- Tire and vehicle safety checks: Make sure your vehicle is the best way before you start your journey.
- Promotations with experts in the field of road safety: learn from experts about how you can stay safe on the roads.
Mophethe insisted on motorists, passengers and road users to stay alert and deliberately during their travels.
Against the negative weather, drivers are encouraged to always be patient, careful and very attentive, while:
- Making time for regular breaks: fatigue can be deadly, so take breaks every 200 kilometers or two hours.
- Obedient speed limits: speeding violations make an important contribution to traffic accidents, so obey the speed limits.
- Avoid distractions: stay focused on the road and avoid distractions such as using your phone while driving.
- Make sure your vehicle is in good condition before you can guarantee the road of the vehicle before you start your journey.
