The bodies of the 80-year-old woman and 83-year-old man were found in two separate rooms in their home at Ga-Kuranta village on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba said both victims had visible injuries on their bodies.
“They went inside the house and discovered an 83-year-old male tied with a rope on the neck while seated on the floor,” he says.
“They then proceeded to another room and found an 80-year-old female victim also tied with a rope on the neck while lying on her back facing upward and both ropes were tied on the roof.”
He says two cell phones belonging to the deceased were missing.
They were positively identified by next of kins as Malekutu Alfred Mokhupi and Maphetola Selala Rasodi.
“The motive of the incident is currently unknown at this stage but police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death,” said Mashaba.
