Political parties criticize Premier Ramathuba’s SOPA during debate

uMkhonto weSizwe Party’s member of the Provincial Legislature Velile Jack says Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba is failing to provide basic services to the people while their living conditions are regressing daily.

During the debate of the State of the Province Address in Lebowakgomo today, Jack cited the newly launched programs – Dikgerekgere Wednesdays and Hinwa Mati Fridays – as total failures, including the Musina-Makhado Special Economic Zone.

He says Ramathuba did not say anything about issues of gender-based violence and mental health after declaring them a pandemic during the 2024 SOPA.

Meanwhile United Africans Transformation’s member of the Provincial Legislature Kobodi Maila has urged the government to give local companies opportunities to showcase their skills and commit to supporting local businesses with major projects.

He says having Chinese companies invest in solar powered plants when there are hundreds of local companies with skills and knowledge is a slap in the face to graduates.
