Joburg EMS on High Alert in the midst of thunderstorm warning

The weather service warned of possible localized floods, excessive lightning, harmful wind and hail in some parts of Gauteng and Mpumalanga.

Johannesburg Ems spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said that this could lead to traffic disturbances, so motorists must be careful.

“Motorists must extend a safe next distance, avoid flooded roads and flooded bridges,” said Mulaudzi.

Mulaudzi further insisted on checking residents in low -lying areas to check the water level and go to higher land.

“Johannesburg Emergency Service stays on high reports at night and monitors all seven regions of the city.”
