South Africa: 10 dead in Eastern Cape floods

Severe storms and heavy rains on June 1 led to the tragic deaths of ten individuals in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, Eastern Cape, as reported by IOL. Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, confirmed the fatalities and highlighted significant damage in areas such as Kwanobuhle, Kariega, Walmer, Blue Horizon Bay, and Kamesh. On Friday, President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the province to meet with flood victims. He assured that the government will make every effort to address the recovery needs and facilitate the rebuilding of the devastated regions.
