Seven suspects arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Northwest cousins

In Johannesburg, North West police have arrested seven suspects linked to the kidnapping and extortion of two teenagers, Zahraa and Bataviya Mohammed, in Hartbeespoort, Britain. The cousins, aged 17 and 19, were abducted in March while on their way to school. Their car was rammed by another vehicle, and two armed men forced them into a white car before driving off. Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, the North West Provincial Commissioner of Police, commended the multi-disciplinary team for their efforts in rescuing the teens. They were found in a house in New Stands, near Mabopane, on Monday evening. After being examined by paramedics at Klipgat police station, the teenagers were reported to be in good health aside from exhaustion and trauma. They have since been reunited with their families.
