A tragic incident has occurred on a farm near Glen, just outside Bloemfontein, where an elderly couple was found brutally murdered. Police were alerted by a concerned neighbor who couldn’t reach the couple and discovered their bodies on Saturday. The 76-year-old husband was found about 300 meters from the farm, and his 73-year-old wife was located in the farm’s septic tank. Both had severe upper body wounds and were declared dead at the scene.
The police initiated a multidisciplinary search operation that lasted through the night. During the search, the couple’s stolen vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, was found near Majwemasweu (Brandfort). Tools and electronic items were also reported missing from their home. The Glen Police Department is investigating the case as a home invasion and murder, but no arrests have been made yet.
