South African cricketer and Sunrisers Eastern Cape batter David Bedingham has chosen to delay his wedding by a day after his team secured a spot in the SA20 2025 final at Johannesburg’s New Wanderers Stadium.
As reported by ESPNcricinfo, the right-handed batter was originally set to marry Jenna Van Niekerk on Saturday, February 8, but decided to reschedule to ensure his availability for the title clash. Bedingham and Van Niekerk have been in a long-term relationship and frequently share pictures together on Instagram.

The Sunrisers, two-time champions of the tournament, faced a challenging path to the final this season. Despite a shaky start, they bounced back strongly, securing their spot in the final by overcoming the Joburg Super Kings in the Eliminator and the Paarl Royals in Qualifier 2.
Now aiming for a third consecutive title, the team will look to make history. Meanwhile, Bedingham, in his debut season in the high-profile league, has found it tough with the bat, managing only 236 runs in 11 innings, with a top score of 48.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape lose final toss
Rashid Khan-led MI Cape Town won the toss and chose to bat first in the highly anticipated SA20 final. The defending champions took five overs to finally break a solid 51-run opening stand between Ryan Rickleton and Rassie van der Dussen.
Despite valuable contributions from Connor Esterhuizen (39), George Linde (20), and Dewald Brevis (38), MI Cape Town struggled to gain full momentum with the bat, eventually finishing with a competitive total of 181/8 in 20 overs.
Sunrisers’ bowlers shared the wickets, with Marco Jansen, Richard Gleeson, and Liam Dawson taking two each, while Aiden Markram and Craig Overton grabbed one apiece. MI Cape Town reached the final after beating Paarl Royals by 39 runs in Qualifier 1.
