Safa in talks to build a stadium in the Northern Cape: the Jordaan

South African football has historically seen professional dominance from major cities such as Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg, with limited professional league access in other regions. However, significant strides have been made recently. Danny Jordaan, President of the South African Football Association (Safa), lauded the achievements of the national teams. He highlighted successes in the Safa Activities Report for the past year, celebrating Banyana Banyana’s historic victory as African champions and Bafana Bafana’s bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations. Banyana Banyana clinched their first Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco in 2022, while Bafana Bafana secured third place in the recently concluded Nations Cup. These milestones mark notable progress for South African football on both the continental and national stages, reflecting enhanced programs and determined efforts by Safa.
