The party’s Secretary General Floyd Shivambu announced the key changes in a media briefing on Thursday.
Shivambu announced the appointment of prominent legal counsel and former EFF National Chairperson Dali Mpofu as Chairperson of the National Disciplinary Committee.
The party’s Deputy President John Hlophe will serve alongside him as Chairperson of the National Disciplinary Committee of Appeals.
The party has also introduced new leadership in its Women’s and Youth Leagues.
Shivambu announced the following appointments:
- Serame Nameeh Mogale as the full-time Head of Political Education, tasked with driving the party’s educational programs.
- Commander Nothando ‘Thando’ Shozi-Malanga**, a member of the National High Command, as National Convenor of the Women’s League.
Shivambu commended her for her discipline and dedication, stating that she would guide the league’s full formation with excellence.
- Lindiwe Irene Makubu (Mtshali) as the National Coordinator of the Women’s League.
“Born in exile in Lusaka, Zambia, and the daughter of founding MK member Eric Stalin Mtshali, she brings extensive leadership experience from her activism in student and youth movements,” he said.
In addition to these roles, several members have been appointed to further strengthen the party’s leadership, including Luther Lebello, Jabu Khoza, Madume Patrice Choku, Lindiwe Ntshali, Puseletso Skhosana, Dumisile Nxumalo, and Sibusiso Radebe.
“These appointments reflect our commitment to building a robust leadership team that will steer UMkhonto We Sizwe into its next phase of growth,” Shivambu said.
He emphasised that the strategic appointments signal the party’s focus on revitalising its structures and preparing for its future political endeavours.
