The Free State will host Bafana Bafana’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe on June 11, 2024, at Toyota Free State Stadium. The Ministry of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, along with the Mangaung Metro Municipality, has partnered with the South African Football Association (SAFA) for this significant event. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM, coinciding with the anniversary of Bafana Bafana’s opening match in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in the Free State. The department urges locals to attend in large numbers to support the national team, which includes Free State-born players Mothobi Mvala, Teboho Mokoena, and Thapelo Morena. Tickets can be purchased through Ticket Pro, Free State Stadium, PostNet, and Spar outlets. “We hope for a decisive victory,” stated department spokesperson Tankiso Zola.
