Second suspect arrested for Mpumalanga mass shooting

A 43-year-old man was arrested in Pienaar on Tuesday. 

The mass shooting left eight people dead and injured three others. 

On Tuesday, one of the suspected shooters, Bongani Nkosi, appeared in the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court following his recent arrest.

The matter was postponed to next Tuesday for a formal bail application.

According to Mpumalanga police, six victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others, a woman and a man, succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

At the scene, two vehicles were discovered with bullet holes, and the body of one of the victims was found inside one of the cars.

During the arrest, the police seized a pistol along with around 13 rounds of live ammunition from the suspect.

The second suspect is due in court soon.
