Northwest Prime Minister Bushy Maape returns after almost five months of sick leave

EFF North West provincial leader Shakes Botswe announced plans to table a motion of no confidence against current Prime Minister Maape, citing his age and inability to effectively manage the province. Botswe, speaking to TimesLIVE, expressed that Maape is too old and should step down to take care of his grandchildren. He highlighted the deteriorating state of municipalities and infrastructure, emphasizing the urgency to remove Maape from office before the 2024 national elections. The EFF plans to bring the motion forward and hopes for support from the DA, Freedom Front Plus, and some ANC members to ensure its passage. According to Botswe, Maape’s continued leadership is detrimental to the province, and immediate action is necessary to prioritize the residents’ needs. He firmly believes that Maape’s term should not continue due to the pressing infrastructure issues at hand.
