The Free State Education Department is mourning the loss of Judith Mpho Moalosi, a dedicated teacher from Tsoletso Secondary School, who was murdered on Youth Day. The 41-year-old was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, who reportedly ran her over multiple times near G4S Mangaung Prison. He later led the police to her decomposed body. Moalosi, who started at Tsoletso in 2020, was lauded for her hard work and dedication. The department’s spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, condemned gender-based violence and femicide, offering condolences to Moalosi’s family, colleagues, and students. A memorial service is scheduled for June 27. Ndaba praised the police for the swift arrest but emphasized the ongoing issue of violence against women and female educators.
