Mpumalanga police receive three life sentences for the murder of his wife and her two siblings

In a tragic courtroom decision, the Mpumalanga High Court handed down three life sentences to police officer Sizwe Khoza for the murder of his wife, her sister, and her brother. The incident stemmed from a derogatory comment made by his wife’s brother, who called Khoza a “little boy” during a family gathering in April the previous year. In response, the 38-year-old officer retrieved his service firearm from a safe in his bedroom and fatally shot all three relatives. Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) spokesperson, Phaladi Shuping, confirmed the sentencing, emphasizing the severity of Khoza’s actions. The High Court’s ruling reflects the gravity of the crime, holding the officer accountable with a life sentence for each count of murder.
