The day prior, June 19, witnessed multiple critical incidents. A head-on collision near Umdloti left five people injured, with four in serious condition. Additionally, on the same day, a woman returning from her boyfriend’s house in Tongaat was shot and killed. A tragic accident occurred when a 13-year-old girl attempting to flee from attacking Pitbulls was run over in Temple Valley. Another incident saw two taxis collide on the M4 near Merebank, causing numerous injuries. Further, the N3 near Hilton saw a fatal crash where a truck hit a stationary vehicle, killing a passenger and seriously injuring the driver. Emergency services also responded to a 70-year-old woman with severe breathing issues in Clubview, successfully stabilizing and transporting her to the hospital.
