Reduced Female Representation, Increased Experience – Prime Minister Ntuli Appoints New KZN Director

The IFP has announced key appointments to its Cabinet. Musa Zondi will head Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, driving growth and collaboration with various stakeholders. Thulasizwe Buthelezi, former district mayor and Zulu king’s traditional prime minister, becomes the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, bringing significant experience in local government and traditional leadership. Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa takes on Agriculture and Rural Development, while Mntomuhle Khawula assumes the Sports, Arts, and Culture portfolio. The ANC’s Siboniso Duma is appointed MEC for Transport and Human Settlements. Nomagugu Simelane continues as MEC for Health, and Sipho Hlomuka transitions to MEC for Education, both representing the ANC. These appointments aim to integrate experienced leadership to facilitate development and ensure stable governance across sectors.
