Southern Free State misses semi-finals

The U18 Interprovincial Tournament semi-finals will be held in Bloemfontein on Thursday for both boys’ and girls’ teams. Despite a valiant effort, the Southern Free State teams missed out on the semi-finals. On Wednesday, the Southern Free State boys shone with a 4-1 victory over Eastern Province, thanks to Matthias Visser’s hat-trick and Duane Romain’s stunning field goal. However, a 1-1 draw against KwaZulu-Natal Inland wasn’t enough for semi-final qualification. The Southern Free State girls faced a tough South Gauteng team, losing 2-0, with goals from Mpho Tshikhudo and Hannah Smyth. Although they hoped for a favorable outcome in another match, North Gauteng A’s win over Western Province B dashed those hopes. In the boys’ semi-finals, Western Province A will face KZN Coastals A, and Southern Gauteng A will play Boland A. For the girls, South Gauteng A will compete against South Gauteng B, and KZN Coastals A will take on North Gauteng A.
