Total 63 new police vehicles handed over in Northern Cape | News24

Lt. Gen. Koliswa Otola, Provincial Commissioner, handed over the keys to a new police vehicle, symbolizing the delivery of 63 brand-new police vehicles to Northern Cape stations on Monday, 13 May. The fleet includes 40 Toyota double cab bakkies and 23 Isuzu 4×4 double cab bakkies, designed for the province’s challenging terrain. Otola emphasized responsible and efficient use of these resources, aiming to bolster efforts against crime and engage more with the community. She underscored the commitment of the South African Police Service (SAPS) to enhance response times and visible policing, focusing on provincial safety. The ceremony, held at the Kimberley police K9 unit, was attended by district commissioners, provincial heads, and station commanders. Otola was flanked by Major Generals Luntu Ngubelanga, Thabo Mphuthi, and Jacques Raymond, who play integral roles in the ongoing efforts to improve policing in the Northern Cape.
