Several local young cyclists shared the podium on Saturday, 7 December, during the Limpopo cycling awards held at the Polokwane Golf Club.
Among the Louis Trichardt cyclists to walk away with prestigious awards was Kombo Bere, who not only received a Federation Achievement XCO award but also his provincial colours in XCO (Elite Men) racing. He was also named XCO 2024 Elite Men Champion.
Kombo’s teammate Daan Terblanch received a Federation Achievement XCM (marathon) award, with both him and Kombo competing in the Elite Men’s category. Pierre du Preez was announced as the Master Men 2024 XCO Champion and also received his provincial colours.
In the Junior Boys XCO category, Thabo Mulaudzi received a Federation Achievement Award, along with his provincial colours. In the Youth Boys category, André van Ree received a Federation Achievement Award for both XCO and XCM, along with his provincial colours in XCO.
Young Elané Visser was named Limpopo Female Cyclist of the Year and Limpopo Mountain Bike XCO Champion. She also received her provincial colours together with her Federation Achievement Award in the Sub-Junior Girls category. In the Sub-Junior Boys category, Eli Signer received his provincial colours for XCO, along with a Federation Achievement XCM award. He was also named the 2024 Limpopo XCO Champion in his age group.
In the Sprog Girls category, Mia Venter received a Federation Achievement XCM award, while Mauritz Meiring (Sprog Boys) received his provincial colours along with a Federation Achievement Award.
Conner Leeson was awarded a Federation Achievement Award in the XCM Nipper Boys category, while Luan Smit also received his Federation Achievement Award, along with his Limpopo colours in the Nipper Boys category.
