Law enforcement activities in the Free State have led to numerous arrests targeting various crimes. Operation Vala umgodi resulted in 124 arrests for immigration violations, with some individuals found possessing gold-containing material. Simultaneously, during Operation Shanela, police detained 160 suspects for Schedule 6 offenses. Among these arrests, 133 were for assault, 11 for rape, 7 for murder, and 9 for attempted murder. Officers also confiscated dangerous weapons from 28 suspects and apprehended 16 individuals for robbery. A separate incident saw the arrest of a tuck shop owner for bribery and possessing illegal cigarettes. Efforts to curb drug issues led to the arrest of 66 suspects, while roadblocks and inspections caught 79 more offenders. Detective tracing operations captured 209 suspects.
