Northern Cape chooses four top schools for DSNC finals | SuperSport

Northern Cape Schools netball chairwoman Mary Maasdorp expressed her excitement about the schools representing the province at the national finals of the DSTV Schools Netball Challenge (DSNC). Fourteen schools competed in Upington, but Hoërskool Diamantveld, Hoërskool Duineveld, Hoërskool Saul Damon, and Monwabisi High School emerged victorious, earning the chance to travel to Gauteng for the national finals on July 12 and 13 at Hoërskool Florida in Roodepoort.

Duineveld triumphed over Diamantveld in the Botho division, while Monwabisi defeated Damon in the Ubuntu stream final. Maasdorp was particularly thrilled for the Ubuntu schools, as this marks their first participation. She stated that the province is confident these schools will make them proud and benefit from the experience.

The DSNC, now in its fourth year, serves as a platform for identifying and nurturing future national netball talent. Maasdorp praised the organization’s smooth execution and the enjoyment it brought to participants and parents alike. The tournament is a joint effort between MultiChoice and SA Schools Netball (SASN) to provide equal opportunities for both urban and rural schools.
