Three men between the ages of 23 and 33 were arrested in Mankweng, outside Polokwane in Limpopo, for the murder of a 24-year-old student on Sunday. The incident occurred near Gate 2 of the University of Limpopo at around 5 am. The student and a friend were accosted by the three suspects, who attempted to rob them. When the two resisted, one suspect fatally stabbed the student. Guards at the gate apprehended two of the suspects on the spot, who were then handed over to the police. The third suspect fled but later turned himself in on Monday, accompanied by his parents. The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The three suspects are scheduled to appear in Mankweng District Court on Tuesday, facing murder charges.
