In Mbombela, Mpumalanga’s seventh government has been inaugurated with a new composition in its legislature. The recent session distributed 51 seats among six political parties. The African National Congress (ANC) secured 21 seats, retaining dominance. MP, a new entrant, claimed nine seats to become the official opposition. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) obtained seven seats, while the Democratic Alliance (DA) took six. Both FF Plus and ActionSA secured a single seat each. Mandla Ndlovu from the ANC has been elected as the prime minister unopposed and is set to be sworn in next Tuesday. This new allocation marks a change from the previous government’s 30-seat configuration.
