Three men arrested in Cape Town for kidnapping, extortion and similar cases in Gauteng | News24

Three men appeared in a Cape Town court on Tuesday, charged with kidnapping and extortion following their arrests in Woodstock over the Youth Day weekend. The suspects, identified as Zwelakhe Ngwenya from Chiawelo, Mlungisi Mbutu from White City, and Bongani Zulu from Rockville, were apprehended at 7 PM on Friday in a coordinated operation. State Attorney Luzaan Williams revealed that all three individuals are from Gauteng and are implicated in a similar case in that region. During the court session, Williams stated, “There is a similar case against the suspects.”

This incident adds to a growing concern over kidnapping crimes in South Africa. Authorities are emphasizing vigilance and continued cooperation between communities and law enforcement to combat such threats effectively.
