EFF marches to Limpopo Premier’s Office over service delivery concerns

The provincial chairperson of the Economic Freedom Fighters in Limpopo Lawrence Mapoulo says the Polokwane municipality has failed to supply residents with clean water, and as a result people are sick.

Mapoulo led a march to the Office of the Premier in Polokwane today over service delivery issues including water, high electricity costs, unemployment and issues affecting Leeto la Polokwane.

He says toilets are not working and children go to school without bathing, while taxi operators are also charged hefty amounts of money to avoid having their vehicles impounded because they lack proper documents.

Mapoulo says today’s march is meant to let the Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba know that they are tired of corrupt activities that are happening in the municipality and the government as a whole.

He maintains that learners and educators were not affected in anyway by the march.

On the other hand, the EFF provincial chairperson has expressed displeasure at the Premier for not availing herself to receive their memorandum of demands.

He emphasized that because Ramathuba could not receive their memorandum, they will come back, however it will not be peaceful.

Addressing supporters at the march, Mapoulo said the municipality’s Leeto La Polokwane buses must start transporting learners from poor backgrounds to school to provide space for taxis to operate.

He adds that Seshego residents must also receive a flat rate for municipal services as it is with the residents in Mankweng.
