Free State dancers competed in world championships – Bloemfontein Courant

Dance Domination was once again competitive on the world stage at the 2024 IDO DISCO World Dance Championships in Mülheim, Germany.

According to Coach Senicia du Toit-Breytenbach, the dancers performed beautifully during the IDO DISCO World Dance Championships that took place in October.

12-year-old Sizolwethu Ngidi was among the top four in the Children’s Male Disco Dance Solo categories and reached the semi-finals in the Disco Slow Dance. 13-year-old Letitia de Smidt was among the top five in the Junior 1 Women’s Disco Freestyle. Both were trained by Breytenbach. Jaydene Barnard (17) was among the top 7 in the Adult Disco Freestyle.

“Other dancers from the Free State also achieved excellent results and we are so proud of all the South African athletes who took part in the 2024 World Disco Championship,” said Breytenbach.

Sizolwethu Ngidi (DDSDT) – 4 rounds to semi-final – 12th place semi-finalist

Jaydene Barnard (DDSDT) 83rd place

21/O World Disco Dance Solo Woman:

Chanel Vorster (DDSDT) – 27th place

Denise Breytenbach (DDSDT) – 78th place

Sizolwethu Ngidi (DDSDT) – 2 rounds to final – Finalist 4th place

17/20 World Disco Slowdance Mixed Championship:
