Five people have been killed in a crash on the N1 at Ysterberg outside Mokopane in Limpopo.
The driver lost control of the vehicle they were travelling in and it overturned this morning.
The Provincial Transport Department Spokesperson, Tshifhiwa Dali, says the deceased are members of one family.
“According to reports from the South African Police Service and traffic law enforcement officers, a sedan lost control and overturned. The exact cause of the crash is still unknown as investigations are ongoing. Tragically, the driver and four immediate family members lost their lives at the scene. MEC Mathye conveyed her condolences to the bereaved families and reiterated her call to all road users to prioritise safety especially as the festive season approaches.”
