Alex residents demand spaza shops shut their doors

JOHANNESBURG – Alexandra residents are fuming after an 11-year-old succumbed to suspected food poisoning.

Spaza shops operated by foreign nationals across the township reported intimidation on Wednesday with demands for the shops to be closed.

This as children continue to lose their lives to food poisoning in parts of the country.

The South African Police Service was on the scene by the afternoon to monitor the situation.
