An Orange level 5 warning for disruptive snow has been issued across the Eastern Cape for today, Tuesday, 5 November.

SAWS further claimed that the disruptive snowfall would result in cold and wet conditions across the province, reports IOL.

The heavy snowfall mainly poses a threat to livestock, crops and traffic flow in severely affected areas.

The Eastern Cape Transport Department claimed that the rare phenomenon of snowfall in early November has resulted in the closure of the Lootsberg Pass on the N9, which is located between Middelburg and Graaf Reinet, reports The Citizen.
