The South African Weather Service has issued a heatwave warning for several parts of the country, including KwaZulu-Natal, effective from Saturday until Monday.
Affected districts in KZN include Zululand, UMkhanyakude, Amajuba, parts of uThukela, and UMzinyathi.

Durban forecaster Ayanda Nsele warned that temperatures are likely to soar to 40 degrees.
“Heat-related illnesses and wildfire incidents are expected to increase,” Nsele cautioned.
We advise against outdoor activities, especially sports, during this time. Wear sunscreen when venturing outside.
Other provinces affected by the heatwave include Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, the north-eastern areas of Free State, the eastern parts of North West, and the north-eastern areas of Eastern Cape.
Relief is expected on Monday with cooler weather and scattered showers forecasted for Western Cape, KZN, and central parts of the country.
