The Noko Resort in Limpopo has postponed the “Yebo God Summer” event, featuring Oscar Mbo, Mörda, QScotch, and Miggs For Real.
The resort cited safety concerns when it announced the delay on Thursday.
It follows recent issues involving DJ Oscar Mbo and Limpopo artists Makhadzi and Kharishma.
Last month, Kharishma posted online that Mbo forced her off the stage while she was performing at the Blouberg Spring Annual Festival at Senwabarwana Stadium.
The incident caused outrage on social media, and Mbo later apologised on Kharishma’s post.
In a separate incident, Mbo allegedly removed Makhadzi’s memory stick from the sound system during her performance over a timing issue, leading to further criticism.
Mbo later apologised and shook hands with Makhadzi, but many fans were still upset.
Event organisers explained in a statement that they considered replacing Mbo, but there wasn’t enough time.
“We want everyone at the event to be safe,” they said. “There have been threats against the artist and the venue itself. Please bear with us as we work to reschedule the event for a safer time.”
