The shooting is believed to have been gang-related.
Police say the suspects stormed into an informal dwelling and opened fire, killing seven people aged between 24 and 55.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Western Cape police commissioner Phatekile Holomisa said one of the suspects is a 17-year-old boy.
“Three people were arrested and that were confident that they would answer these cases in court and a 9-mm pistol was also confiscated, which will be taken to forensic for ballistic tests.
“We’ve deployed additional forces to stabilise the area for the duration until the area is stabilised to ensure that there’s safety.”
The Bishop Lavis massacre follows a mass shooting in Atlantis, where five people were gunned down.
