WATCH | Weather system moving east, authorities remain on alert

CAPE TOWN – Some Cape Winelands areas have received more than 77 millimeters of rain over the past 24 hours.

Disaster management experts say a level 6 weather warning for this region will remain in place until 11pm on Monday.

The Meiringspoort Mountain Pass on the N12 between Beaufort West and Oudtshoorn has been closed due to heavy rainfall and flooding but authorities point the downpours’ impact in the Western Cape has been minimal.
