ANC Limpopo spokesman, Jimmy Machaka says the Provincial Executive Committee has taken a resolution to support the call for the resuscitation of the defunct VBS Bank.
THE ANC Limpopo Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) has resolved to support the call for the resuscitation of the now defunct VBS Bank with an expanded scope.
The decision was taken during a PEC meeting in Lephalale on Monday, 9 September.
ANC provincial spokesman, Jimmy Machaka said they urged all government deployees to initiate the process of implementing the resolution.
He said the PEC has also reaffirmed its stance on VBS, stating that all members and leaders who directly or indirectly contributed to its collapse should face the full might of the law without fear or favour.
“A thorough consultation process with all relevant stakeholders must not be overlooked at any stage,” Machaka said.
He said all decisions from the Lekgotla and previous Makgotla must be fully implemented.
“The provincial secretary’s office is tasked with monitoring implementation of these resolutions and reporting progress to the PEC regularly.”

Machaka said the PEC reaffirmed that the ANC-led government has made commendable progress, improving people’s lives.
“However, these achievements should not overlook challenges faced by those who still require government intervention to escape undesirable conditions,” he said.
Machaka called on all deployees at all levels of government to intensify their efforts to provide basic services to the people in order to regain trust and confidence.
“The PEC has also noted the ongoing assessment of deployees in all municipalities in the province by the PEC Legislature and Governance Sun-Committee.
“This assessment is part of the ANC’s ongoing evaluation to ensure representatives meet expectations of both the party and the people of Limpopo,” he said.
Machaka added that an assessment report would be completed and submitted for consideration at the next PEC meeting.
