Female investigators put sexual offenders behind bars | Alberton Record

Brackendowns SAPS have congratulated female detectives of the Germiston Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit investigators for nabbing sexual offenders.

Several sexual offenders are now behind bars thanks to the tireless work of Germiston FCS female officers who have proudly secured convictions.

Sergeant Lekgala Mathule and Sergeant Vhengani Siphuma, who work across the City of Ekurhuleni, have received their bragging rights in ridding the province’s streets of sexual offenders.

Mathule of Germiston FCS has achieved a conviction of 12 life sentences for a 40-year-old man. This rapist was convicted by the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on 12 counts of rape and subsequently received life sentences for his crimes against five boys aged between seven and 10.

She also secured the conviction of a 56-year-old Mayberry Park resident who was sentenced to life in prison on June 30. The rapist targeted his victims through social media platforms.

Another 62-year-old perpetrator from Alberton was handed a 20-year imprisonment for rape. Additionally, a 39-year-old and 40-year-old were sentenced to 10 years and a life sentence consecutively.

Sergeant Siphuma secured a conviction of a 32-year-old sexual offender from Brackendowns who was recently sentenced at Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court to 20 years for raping a family member.

She also welcomed a conviction of a 37-year-old offender who was nabbed for raping a minor.
