GBV epidemic | Rape on the rise in Gauteng

JOHANNESGURG – Rape cases remain on the rise in Gauteng.

Anti-GBV NGOs and the Gauteng health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko marched in Soweto to raise awareness of the issues.

Nkomo-Ralehoko says if they don’t fight the scourge aggressively the battle against GBV will be difficult.

She says hotspot areas with GBV issues, and particularly rape cases have been identified.

Anti-GBV NGOs say more community outreach programs are needed to address the scourge.

Our reporter Pule Letshwiti-Jones has more.
