Gauteng Traffic Chief Samuel Mashaba dies

JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Traffic Chief Inspector Samuel Mashaba has died.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Gauteng Provincial Government confirmed that Mashaba died on 13 October at Milpark Hospital while receiving medical care. 

He became widely known during his testimony before the Madlanga Commission.

He faced tough questions about his alleged involvement in the Aeroton drug bust.

Mashaba was placed on precautionary suspension in June after the damning testimony.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.
