WEATHER: Gauteng set for sunny 27°C, Cape Town to be cool and cloudy

Johannesburg and Pretoria are set for a warm, sunny Wednesday, with temperatures climbing into the high 20s, while Cape Town will see a cooler day with shifting clouds, sunshine and strong wind gusts, according to AccuWeather.

Gauteng: Plenty of sunshine

Johannesburg is forecast to reach a high of 26°C on Wednesday, with plenty of sunshine and no chance of rain or thunderstorms. Winds from the northwest are expected to reach 11 km/h, with gusts of up to 33 km/h.

Temperatures will drop to 9°C overnight under clear skies, with northwest winds of 7 km/h and gusts reaching 22 km/h.

Pretoria will be slightly warmer, reaching 27°C during the day with plenty of sun. There is no chance of rain or thunderstorms, while winds will blow from the north-northwest at 9 km/h, with gusts of up to 28 km/h.

The overnight low in Pretoria is expected to reach 10°C, with clear skies. Winds will shift to the west at 7 km/h, with gusts of up to 13 km/h.

Cape Town: Cooler and windy

Cape Town will have a very different Wednesday, with shifting clouds and sunshine and a high of just 18°C.

The chance of rain is only 2%, with no chance of thunderstorms and no precipitation forecast. However, winds from the south are expected to reach 13 km/h, with gusts of up to 37 km/h.

The temperature will fall to 11°C overnight, with conditions described as clear to partly cloudy. The chance of rain is just 1%, while southeasterly winds will reach 9 km/h, with gusts of up to 22 km/h.
