Here’s the weather outlook for South Africa’s nine provinces.

The South African Weather Service has issued weather updates stating that fog and frost are expected in some provinces.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, southern parts of the Free State as well as the northern parts of the Eastern Cape.

Weather conditions and UVB forecast in South Africa’s provinces

Gauteng

Gauteng can expect fine and warm.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index is Moderate

Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga, the Place of the Rising Sun, can expect morning fog along the escarpment, otherwise fine and warm.

Limpopo

In Limpopo, morning fog over the central parts, otherwise fine and warm.

North West

North West, known as Bokone Bophirima in Setswana, can expect fine and warm.

Free State

In the Free State, fine and cool to warm.

Northern Cape

Fine and warm to hot The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly.

Western Cape

Cloudy with fog in morning over the southern parts, otherwise fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be light and variable east of Sill Bay but moderate south-easterly to easterly during the afternoon, otherwise fresh to strong south-easterly to easterly becoming south-westerly north of Cape Columbine from the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is Very High

Eastern Cape

The Western half: Cloudy with fog in places in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and cool, but warm in places in the north where it will become fine in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light and variable in the morning, otherwise light to moderate south-easterly, becoming north-easterly in the evening.

The Eastern half: Cloudy with fog in places south of the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool, but windy and warm in places in the north where it will become fine in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly, but light and variable in the south during the morning.

KwaZulu-Natal

Cloudy with fog over the central and western interior in the morning, otherwise fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy in the east from the evening. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to southwesterly north of Cape St. Lucia, otherwise northerly to north-easterly, spreading to Kosi Bay by the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index is High
