Pirtek Northern Cape brings service closer with new satellite locations

Pirtek Africa’s Northern Cape (NC) Centre, based in Kathu, has extended its footprint, adding two satellite locations to its already established operation since May 2026. The move tackles a challenge customers in the region have lived with for years: travel time and distance to support of reliable hydraulic hose and fittings providers.

For businesses operating in Kathu’s greater mining and industrial corridor, downtime is not just an inconvenience, it’s a loss of working hours and lost revenue with every extra kilometre between a breakdown and a service point. By placing satellite service centres closer to where customers operate, the Pirtek NC team has removed one of the biggest barriers between a breakdown and a solution, response times have shortened, and customers who once had to plan around lengthy round trips, now get their hydraulic issues assessed, repaired, or replaced with minimal operational disruption. Pirtek NC’s Centre expansion into Hotazel and Postmansburg means that promise is no longer just a line in a brochure, rather it is now something customers experience directly, every time they call.

Matt Pennefather, Managing Director of Pirtek Africa, says the results speak for themselves.

“The immediate impact on the revenue Pirtek NC is remarkable. It’s testament to having the right Centre owner and operational team in the right place with the right mindset, to create practical, impactful solutions for our customers.”

That combination, (local ownership paired with genuine problem-solving), sits at the heart of what makes the Pirtek Centre (Franchise) model work. Each Pirtek Centre is independently owned and operated, giving owners the flexibility to respond to the specific pressures of their region rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Owned and operated by Oarabile ‘Ace’ Barnard; Nancy Machaba and Prudence Andries, with their Financial and Operational Heads, Kobus Potgieter and Monty Viljoen, Pirtek NC illustrates that flexibility perfectly and how it translates into a decision: take the service to the customer, instead of asking the customer to come to the service.

Pirtek NC’s satellite locations, now complimenting their principal centre in Kathu, are fully operational and form part of the Pirtek NC’s day-to-day service offering. Customers across the surrounding area now have access to the high-quality hydraulic hose and fitting standard and support that Pirtek Africa has always been known for, now without the extended travel requirements.

For an industry where equipment cannot afford to sit idle, this kind of localised expansion is more than a convenience. It is a practical demonstration of what the Pirtek service promise means: fast, reliable, on-site support wherever customers need it. Pirtek Africa continues to grow its Centre network across South Africa, Namibia, and the broader African continent, with each expansion guided by the same principle now on display in the Northern Cape: Putting the right people, in the right place, to solve real customer problems and keep industry operating.
