WEATHER: Rainy Cape Town as Gauteng enjoys sunny Thursday

Cape Town is in for a cold, wet Thursday, according to AccuWeather. At the same time, Johannesburg and Pretoria are expected to enjoy sunny winter weather with comfortable daytime temperatures before clear, chilly nights set in.

Cape Town‘s temperature is expected to reach 16°C on Thursday, with rain forecast throughout the day. Up to 14.9mm of rain is expected, with around five hours of rainfall and a 96% chance of precipitation. Winds are expected to blow from the north at 19km/h, with gusts reaching 46km/h.

Conditions improve overnight, with skies becoming mainly clear. The temperature is expected to drop to 8°C, with only a 2% chance of precipitation. Southeasterly winds of 9km/h are forecast, with gusts of up to 22km/h.

Johannesburg is expected to enjoy sunshine and a high of 22°C on Thursday. There is only a 1% chance of precipitation, while north-northwesterly winds of 13km/h are expected, with gusts reaching 44km/h.

The evening is expected to be clear, with temperatures dropping to 6°C. Southwesterly winds of 9km/h are forecast, with a 1% chance of precipitation.

Pretoria is set for another sunny winter’s day, with temperatures climbing to 24°C under plenty of sunshine. There is only a 1% chance of precipitation, while north-northwesterly winds of 13km/h and gusts of up to 35km/h are expected.

Clear conditions are forecast overnight with temperatures falling to 8°C. Light south-southwesterly winds of 9km/h are expected, with just a 1% chance of precipitation.
