SA National XCO Championship. Two of Gene Louw Primary’s Cape Town-based Genies showcased their talent at the SA National XCO Championship. This championship was held in Bloemfontein this past weekend. They represented the Western Cape with distinction.
- Mila Josling finished 7th in the Nipper Girls category.
- Jeandre Vermaak secured a strong 5th place in the Nipper Boys division.
What is the Nipper Division?
The Nipper division is the youngest competitive age group in South African mountain biking. It is designed for riders aged 8–10 years. Courses are shorter and less technical, giving children the chance to develop endurance, bike handling, and racing skills in a safe, age‑appropriate environment.
From Nippers, riders progress through Sprogs (11–12 years), Sub‑Juniors (13–14 years), Youth (15–16 years), and Juniors (17–18 years), before reaching the Elite category.
