ANC confident Limpopo will remain its stronghold after local polls

The African National Congress (ANC) said it is confident Limpopo will remain its stronghold after the 4 November local government elections.

Despite losing ground in several municipalities across the country, the party continues to dominate local government in the province.

The ANC retains control of all municipalities in the province, including Thabazimbi and Modimolle-Mookgophong, where it governs through coalition agreements with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

Addressing supporters at a rally in Thohoyandou over the weekend, ANC Limpopo chairperson Phophi Ramathuba emphasised that the party will maintain its grip on the province.

“Limpopo, Vhembe and Thulamela remains the home of the ANC. There is no dispute on that. Limpopo is the home of the ANC.”
