WEATHER: Expect rain, 63 km/h gusts in Cape Town on Tuesday, Gauteng enjoys sunshine

Cape Town is set for a wet and windy Tuesday, with occasional rain expected during the morning before mostly cloudy and breezy conditions persist through the day, according to AccuWeather.

The Mother City is forecast to reach a high of 16°C. North-northwesterly winds of 30 km/h are expected, with gusts reaching up to 63 km/h. Rainfall of 6.3 mm is forecast.

Conditions are expected to improve overnight. Cape Town will cool to 11°C, with a passing shower or two possible during the evening before skies begin clearing. South winds of 13 km/h are forecast, with gusts of up to 35 km/h. An additional 0.6 mm of rainfall is expected.

Johannesburg, meanwhile, is in line for a dry winter’s day under hazy sunshine.

The city is forecast to reach a high of 19°C. North-northwesterly winds of 11 km/h and gusts of up to 33 km/h are expected.

Conditions will become cold overnight, with temperatures dropping to 5°C under a crystal-clear sky. Winds are expected to remain light at 7 km/h, with gusts of up to 22 km/h.

Pretoria is expected to be the warmest of the three major cities, with hazy sunshine dominating the day.

The capital is forecast to reach 21°C. Northerly winds of 9 km/h and gusts of up to 28 km/h are expected.

Overnight conditions will remain clear and dry, with temperatures falling to 6°C. Northerly winds of 6 km/h and gusts of up to 17 km/h are expected.
