The Western Cape Department of Water and Sanitation says dam levels across the province remain encouraging.
The department’s head, Ntombizanele Bila-Mupariwa, said dam levels have continued to improve this week, with increases recorded in several key water supply systems across the Western Cape.

“The Cape Town water supply system combined has increased from 70.34% last week to 71.95% this week. The Western Cape state of dams has also recorded a rise from 71.36% last week to 71.47% this week. (0:29) The Tivatuskluv Dam, which is the largest dam in the Western Cape water supply system, increased from 72.20% last week to 73.29% this week.” Â
Ntombizanele Bila-Mupariwa adds that the province’s dams remain well above the levels recorded during the same period last year.
“The continued increase in dam levels is encouraging and contributes positively to water security in the province.”
