The National Museum in Bloemfontein has officially launched the Free State Young Artist Award Competition 2026, inviting young creatives from across the province to participate in this exciting platform to showcase their talent and imagination.
This year’s theme, “My Museum, My Art,” encourages participants to interpret the museum in their own way through stories, memories and creative expression associated with its spaces and collections.
According to the museum, prizes will be awarded in each category and selected finalists will be invited to the official awards ceremony, where the winners will be announced. Registration closes on August 28, 2026 at 3:00 PM.
Competition Categories:
* Category A: ages 5–9
* Category B: ages 10–14 years
* Category C: ages 15–19 years
