TS Galaxy, one other top-flight club as well as two from the Motsepe Foundation Championship are set to face one another in what promises to be a mouth-watering Premier’s Cup in Mpumalanga.

The Rockets won the competition last year after beating German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg in the final.

Teams like Mbabane Swallows and Yanga have also participated in the past.

This year, the tournament has been expanded to establish a broader provincial football festival by including the four biggest teams in the province.

“The Premier’s Cup will be played on the 25th of July in KwaMhlanga, in KwaNdebele. The tournament will be launched soon by the office of the Premier of Mpumalanga,” a source shared with KickOff.

“No big teams from other provinces will be invited. It’s a Mpumalanga Premier’s Cup, so it will be contested by Casric Stars, TS Galaxy, Kruger United, and The Bees.”

Mpumalanga now has four teams in professional football, with the kings of the province crowned at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on 25 July.
