Western Province, Northern Blues, Southern Gauteng and North West Confirm Hockey IPT SF Berths – gsport4girls

The group stages of the SA Hockey Senior IPT A Section reached their conclusion at the University of Johannesburg and Hoërskool Linden in Johannesburg on Thursday, 7 May 2026, with the women’s semi-final line-up now confirmed and the relegation battle equally set as teams discovered the fate of their remaining matches.

North West took on KZN Raiders in a virtual quarter-final early in the day. The North West side got the perfect start through Jasmin Kelly in the 11th minute, but neither side could add to the score before half-time.

Early in the second half Cerian Fourie levelled matters for KZN Raiders, before Emily Wilson restored North West’s lead late in the third quarter. Charne de Wet added the insurance goal late on to secure North West’s place in the semi-finals with a 3-1 victory.

Northern Blues were far too strong for Eastern Province, recording a remarkable 11-0 victory to claim top spot in Pool B on goal difference. A brace from Angele Vogel was supported by nine different goalscorers as the Blues attack repeatedly broke through.

Laiken Brisset, Edith Molikoe, Emily Macquet, Lenique Vogel, Cassandra Forbes, Ntsopa Mokoena, Caylinn den Bakker, Nicola Forbes and Anja Tromp all found the back of the net in an emphatic performance.

Western Province made it three wins from three as the defending champions continued their dominant form with a 3-0 victory over WP Peninsula. Charne Maddocks, Rebecca Kaps and Ashleigh Thomas all scored as WP Peninsula settled for fourth place in Pool A.

Southern Gauteng had already secured a semi-final spot before taking on Free State, but they still delivered another commanding performance with a 7-0 win. Paris-Gail Isaacs and Tamlyn Kock scored either side of a Bianca Wood hat-trick, before Hayley Kilfoil and Teshawn de la Rey added further gloss to the scoreline as Southern Gauteng completed the group stage in style.

With the semi-final line-up confirmed and the relegation play-offs set, the tournament moves into the knockout phase on Friday, 8 May 2026, when Western Province face Southern Gauteng and Northern Blues take on North West for places in the final.
